How scores are calculated
Every problem is worth up to 1,000 points. You get one answer, and your score depends on if you are right and how fast you were.
Right answer: faster is better
You start with 500 points for being right. Up to 500 more come from speed, and that bonus gets cut in half every 5 minutes.
| Time taken | Points |
|---|---|
| Right away | 1,000 |
| 5 minutes | 750 |
| 10 minutes | 625 |
| 30 minutes or more | 508 |
Close answer: partial points
Some answers are measured values, like a decimal or a number with a unit. If yours is close but not exact, you still earn points. Time does not matter here.
